Visit the Living Planet Aquarium in Sandy, Utah
Wow. It’s magical--just magical. The Living Planet Aquarium is the Sandy, Utah home for all kinds of wonderful aquatic wildlife. Sandy is a very family-friendly community and this center located at 725 East 10600 South, Sandy, UT is fun, educational center for children of all ages. It's just going to get better. Wait, did I say this is a new Sandy home for fish? I should also mention the wide variety of aquatic life placed in this amazing learning center such as Gentoo Penguins, stingrays, and how about a Giant Pacific Octopus? All of these animals and more live at the Living Planet Aquarium. Imagine, if you bought one of the many Sandy homes for sale, you could visit these creatures often and learn all about the nature of science. This is a great place to take children. Interactive exhibits will keep them busy for hours.
The Living Planet Aquarium is open seven days a week. Okay, it closes on Christmas and Thanksgiving. Visit from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. (go early and plan to spend a whole day—you’re going to need it). The cost is just $9 for adults, $8 for seniors, students and military, and $7 for children ages 3-17. Children under 2 are admitted free.
This non-profit organization is partially supported by a gift shop at the site so be sure to take a few extra dollars when you visit. And, I’ll let you in on a little secret—you can feed the stingrays at 2 p.m., Friday through Wednesday (an extra ticket is required and you have to be older than 5 to participate).
For an extra $20/$25 you can spend a little time one-on-one with the penguins in a “Penguin Encounter” every Friday through Wednesday at 1 p.m.
